The Rock and Roll Daycare model is designed for high density, metropolitan areas, at/or exceeding 25,000 persons per square mile. Rock and Roll Daycare clusters units within a small territory, defined typically as small as one zip code (which due to traffic congestion can be several minutes of drive time). These clusters may support up to three to five individual locations.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services advises that daycare should amount to no more than 10 percent of annual gross income. With the high cost of childcare, particularly in northern high density US cities, 33% of families surveyed by care.com report that they spend 20% to 30% or more of their annual income for childcare.
Increases in cost of living and advances in gender equality have led to increase in two-parent working families. Pew Research Center reports that the share of two-parent households in which both parents work full time now stands at 46%, up from 31% in 1970. To serve this growing segment of families, Rock and Roll Daycare provides families with full-day, all inclusive (no add on cost for diapers, food, learning materials, etc.) (7:30 am-6:00 pm), year-round (no summer break) childcare, in a safe, secure and educational environment.
